This post has three points:
- 2nd lesson recap.
- 3rd lesson homework.
- autumn break notification: next lesson is on October 25th.
We had our second lesson Thursday 11th October 2012.
The students worked in pairs or small groups. They started out with reading the text titled Greetings on page 7 in the booklet. They did also practice the dialogue by greeting their partner and other students.
Next the students moved on to working on learning the text to the Jazz Chants from One Stop English that is on page 4 in booklet. They took turns reading and writing as a dictation exercise. We also listened to the chant. It is available here.
Our host for the evening did a speech and invited us to help ourselves to coffee, tea, bisquits and homemade waffles.
We then moved on to the Dolch Word List. The words we translated were from the pre-primer and primer, see below.
Afterwards we talked about simple grammar. Simple Present and Simple Past.
Your home work for next class is:
Practice or THINK about making super simple sentences. The simpler, the better. A bit like this...
Tense | Subject | Auxiliary Verb | Main Verb | Objects |
I | work | in the city. | ||
We | flew | to Germany last month. |
The chart is extracted from http://esl.about.com/od/Intermediate_Verb_Resource/a/Sentence-Structure-Chart.htm
